2001 Allegrini Amarone, Veneto, Italy

Violent young wine. Black colour and core of fruits, blackberries, reduced balsamic vinegar, and peppers. The taste is muscular, hardly showing any pleasing signs. The finish is strong and flamboyant on the finish line. Not served by me – I would definitely have decanted it. Cellar it for 5-7 years more. (88-92)
